K9 Danny Helps Fellow Officers Nab Suspect In Mobil Station Robbery

PEEKSKILL, NY — The case of the gas station robbery is solved thanks in part to the diligent paw work of a Peekskill K9 officer, police said.

The Peekskill Police Department made an arrest in connection with the Aug. 29, robbery at the Mobil Gas Station on Albany Post Road in Peekskill.

On Sept. 5, Jason Adams was identified as a suspect following a robbery investigation in the Village of Buchanan.

During that investigation, Peekskill Police Officer Quiles and K9 Police Officer Nappi, along with his K9 partner Danny, responded to help locate the fleeing suspect. K9 Officer Nappi and K9 Danny tracked the suspect into a wooded area. The. trail led officers directly to the area where Adams was found hiding under heavy brush and rocks, according to police.

"Their persistence, teamwork, and outstanding police work were instrumental in locating and safely apprehending the suspect," the Peekskill Police Department said in a statement announcing the arrest. "Following Adams' arrest, members of the Peekskill Police Department Detective Division conducted additional investigative work and were able to connect Adams to the August 29th robbery in Peekskill."

Adams was charged with third-degree felony robbery.
