• K9 Danny Helps Fellow Officers Nab Suspect In Mobil Station Robbery (patch.com) — Peekskill readers will be glad to know police have arrested a suspect in the Aug. 29 Mobil gas station robbery on Albany Post Road, thanks in part to K9 officer Danny. Working with fellow officers during a related investigation in Buchanan, the dog tracked the man into nearby woods, leading to his capture and later connection to the Peekskill robbery.
   

• Disturbing Video Leads to Arrest After Senior Dog Allegedly Abused at Westchester Groomer (hudsonvalleypost.com) — A Peekskill man has been arrested after security footage allegedly showed him violently abusing a senior dog during a grooming appointment at Dogtopia in Mount Kisco. Westchester's SPCA and District Attorney praised the quick response and encourage residents, including those in Peekskill, to report any suspected animal cruelty to the SPCA's confidential hotline.
