• Peekskill Considers Mountain Biking in Depew Park (streetsblog.org) — Peekskill officials are weighing whether to repeal a long-standing ban on bicycles in Depew Park and potentially allow Class 1 pedal-assist e-bikes on its trails. Local advocates and city staff are pushing for marked, maintained routes in both Depew and the riverfront, while council members debate safety, signage, and how best to hear from residents before changing city code.
• Daycare, Arts Center Proposed for 158-Unit Affordable Housing Project at Former White Plains Linen Site (peekskillherald.com) — A 158-unit affordable housing proposal for the former White Plains Linen site in Peekskill now includes a Little Kings and Queens daycare and a new Peekskill Arts Alliance center. While many neighbors welcome cleaning up the long-blighted property, they're pressing city leaders about building height, traffic, and neighborhood fit as planning and council reviews continue into October.
