The Peekskill Democratic City Committee has voted unanimously to endorse Justin Wagner for the New York State Senate in his race against Republican Greg Ball (Senate District 40). The district is one of the most competitive in the State, with first-term State Senator Ball winning with just 51% of the vote in 2010.”
Peekskill Committee Chairwoman, Marina Ciotti said, “Peekskill voters are not fooled by Greg Ball’s slick politics. We know Senator Ball stands against a woman’s right to choose, against marriage equality and has done little to create jobs here in Peekskill. We need new leadership in Albany that will be there for us when it counts. Justin Wagner is committed to job creation, government reform and lowering the tax burden on middle class New Yorkers. He is the right choice for Peekskill and not Tea Party Republican, Greg Ball. Justin will be a breath of fresh air from politics as usual in Albany and the Peekskill Democrats pledge our full support to Justin and his campaign.”
“Justin has always stood up for the issues that are important to our community,” Peekskill City Councilwoman, Drew Claxton stated. “He is on the right side of issues affecting jobs, the economy, taxes, the environment, and on the right side of equity and justice issues. I am confident that he will represent us and will be there when it counts."

Wagner’s Hudson Valley roots run throughout the Senate District. He grew up and attended public schools in Dutchess County and now lives in Westchester County with his wife Christine and their daughter Samantha. Wagner, who is an attorney, is a Democratic District Leader in the Town of Cortlandt and organized the get out the vote effort in Cortlandt and Peekskill in the 2010 election. He has done extensive pro bono work in New York courts representing homeowners facing foreclosure. Senate District 40 currently includes portions of Dutchess and Westchester counties, in addition to the entirety of Putnam County.
“Peekskill is one of the true gems of the Hudson Valley and I am honored to have the support of the Peekskill Democratic Committee. The progress Peekskill has made as a City in the past few years demonstrates what a dedicated community can accomplish working together. Peekskill needs a true partner in the State Senate, not just someone who shows up when the cameras are around. I look forward to being that true partner for Peekskill,” said Justin Wagner.
