Attempted Armed Robbery in Cortlandt

CORTLANDT, NY — The New York State Troopers of SP Cortlandt are investigating the attempted armed robbery of the Mobil Gas Station located at 2225 Crompond Road in Cortlandt Manor.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Feb. 4, the suspect entered the Mobil store and displayed a weapon to the clerk.

Police said the clerk resisted; and following a struggle, the suspect ran westbound on Route 202.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man of light olive complexion, overweight, with no facial hair and a Spanish accent. He was wearing a blue winter coat with a hood, dark green pants, a light brown shirt, light colored footwear, a dark covering on the lower portion of his face, dark gloves and a black hat.
