The Blue Mountain Eighth Grade band, under the direction of Amy Richter and assisted by Joseph Stamboni, earned a gold medal rating on May 21 at the 2015 NYSSMA Major Organization Festival, located at Fox Lane High School in Bedford.
The band performed a level three program, including “Advance Guard March” by Nowak, “The Battle Pavane” by Susato/Margolis, and “Fiero” by Hodges. Mrs. Richter was impressed by the students’ focus, musicality, and professionalism. This is the sixth consecutive gold medal for the Blue Mountain Band.
