Buchanan Man Fondled Himself, Grabbed A Child: State Police

CORTLANDT, NY — A Buchanan man faces charges related to sex abuse. New York State police said they arrested Nelson Fernandez, 33, on Friday and charged him with two misdemeanors: Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

State police said they responded to a complaint of an unknown male fondling himself, then grabbing a child under the age of 17 on Oct. 18 on 6th Street in Verplanck.

Fernandez was identified as a suspect, located and arrested the next day. Fernandez was arraigned before the City of Peekskill Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
