Buchanan-Verplanck Hosts Phys Ed Workshop

Educators from Westchester/Rockland spend a day in the Hen Hud district

The Hendrick Hudson School District’s educational leadership extends beyond the classroom to the gymnasium and playground. Buchanan-Verplanck Elementary School physical education teacher Derek Kisslinger recently presented a workshop, “Best Practices in Elementary Physical Education - The B-V Way.”

The workshop, conducted through the Southern Westchester BOCES Health and Physical Education Consortium, included physical educators from other school districts, who observed a full day of classes at the school.

This “fly on the wall” setting allowed them to see not only live, dynamic activities, but also gymnasium set-ups and classroom management techniques in action. Educators who took part in the workshop were from the Croton-Harmon, Mount Pleasant, Rye Neck, North Rockland, Harrison and Port Chester School Districts.
