Are you curious about Dungeons and Dragons? Do you like improvisation, writing, games, fantasy, or playing pretend? All of these components can be experienced with the new Hendrick Hudson Free Library Gaming Group. This three-session series (June 6, 13, 27) is a beginner friendly adventure to show participants the wonders of tabletop role playing games (TTRPG)--more commonly referred to as Dungeons and Dragons.
The game will consist of a contained, one-shot adventure where players will be guided through a story that will conclude by the end of the session. There is no long-term obligation, and each session will start from the beginning. The only requirements are a comprehensive reading level and an active imagination.
The game will be run by Game Master (GM) A.J. Manderano, a veteran of the hobby for about eight years, who has led many, many different games. Pencils and notepads will be provided. Extras to bring could include a character sheet, dice, a rulebook, and a miniature figure, but are not required. Register for one, two, or all three sessions via the library's Web site.
For those in the know: Game is D&D 5.5e (edition); characters are level 2 with standard array statistics and gear.
