Educator and Film Series facilitator Victor Messick is back and “Movie Favorites” is the theme for seven Thursdays starting May 7.
Librarians and Thursday Matinee regulars, Elise, Cheri, Victor, Elly, Colette, Donna, and Carol will share one movie each from their list of favorites and with Victor’s help will facilitate the discussion afterwards. Come watch a movie, stay for the discussion and maybe you’ll leave with a new movie to add to your list of favorites!
A Hard Day's Night: A day-and-a-half in the life of the Fab Four (The Beatles) leading up to a televised concert gig. The lads are constantly on the run, from their crazed fans and from their manager, who is constantly trying to rein them in. However, Ringo is arrested and still isn't in the studio a half-hour before air time. With Paul's grandfather available for additional comical relief, the group performs a dozen or so songs. (1964) (1h 27m) Donna has selected this as one of her favorites. She will join us to talk about why after the film.
