Join the Town of Cortlandt for a special public tribute to our Veterans and plaque unveiling in honor of Christopher Katz at the newly renovated Michael C. Mongero Veterans Memorial Park. This ceremony serves as a community gathering to honor, remember, and give thanks for service and sacrifice. All are welcome to attend this meaningful dedication&nbsp;as we gather to celebrate the re-dedication of Michael C. Mongero Veterans Memorial Park and honor the lasting legacy of Christopher Katz, age 22.
Christopher was a beloved son, brother, friend, athlete, and a young leader dedicated to serving others whose commitment to protecting and helping others reflected the values of courage, integrity, and service.
This special ceremony will also honor the brave men and women of our Armed Forces whose sacrifices protect the freedoms we cherish.
Join us as we come together to remember Christopher, honor our veterans, and celebrate a community legacy built on service, sacrifice, and love.

The 9/11 terrorist attacks have left an indelible mark on our individual and collective psyches. &nbsp;This two-part workshop (August 11 and 18) led by Sandra Bennett-Pagan, New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Artist, will enable participants to share experiences and create commemorative art pieces for the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 in 2026. &nbsp;
Part 1: &nbsp;Reflections on the past.
Part 2: &nbsp;Hope and healing for the future.

This workshop, led by Ann Elizabeth Byrne from Hudson Valley Meditation &amp; Reiki, is inspired by The Body Keeps the Score by Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and focuses on understanding the connection between awareness, breath, and the body.
Ann begins with a simple explanation of the book's main ideas, followed by a slow, grounding guided meditation. &nbsp;Reiki energy is offered during the meditation to support nervous system balance and a sense of safety. &nbsp;Singing bowls are then used to encourage deeper relaxation and ease. &nbsp;The workshop ends with time to reflect and notice what you are taking with you.&nbsp; Visit the library's Web site to register.
