WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Westchester County, once the epicenter of the new coronavirus outbreak in the United States, had far fewer new cases overnight than Long Island, according to the latest data from the New York Health Department Sunday.
Westchester's 13,000 cases are distributed predominantly in the southern half of the county, according to a new map released by County Executive George Latimer's office.
With 197 deaths in the county as of Saturday, Latimer ordered flags to half-staff.
