Cortlandt Man Faces DWI Charge after Head-on Crash

New York State Police have charged Michael G. Settepani, 27, of Cortlandt, New York, with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.

Troopers were dispatched to a two-car collision on Furnace Dock Road on Jan. 12. An investigation revealed that Settepani was traveling eastbound on Furnace Dock Road when he failed to maintain his lane of travel. He entered the westbound lane and struck a 2008 Audi head on.

Both drivers refused medical attention.

Troopers concluded that Settepani was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Settepani supplied a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .10 percent and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Cortlandt Court on Jan. 29.

The State Police were assisted by the Montrose Fire Department.
