Cortlandt Man Faces Felony For Driving Without License: Police
Police said he was driving while his license had been suspended because of another offense.

CORTLANDT MANOR, NY — A Cortlandt Manor resident faces a felony charge and more after being stopped for allegedly driving erratically Aug. 21 in Yorktown. Police said Vasel Balboa, 54, of Croton Avenue in Cortlandt Manor, was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, and driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more, both misdemeanors.
Around 8:06 p.m. Aug. 21, Yorktown police received a call about a vehicle that was being operated erratically on Crompond Road, allegedly crossing the double yellow lines. An officer located the vehicle parked in the lot located at 2041 Saw Mill River Rd.

The operator was identified as Balboa and a computer check revealed that his license was suspended for pending prosecution for an alcohol-related offense, police said.
Further investigation on the scene found Balboa was allegedly drunk while driving. Police said he also had a blood alcohol content great than 0.18 percent.

Balboa was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was processed on the three charges. Afterward, he was released on $750 bail to a friend.
Balboa is scheduled to return to Yorktown Justice Court Aug. 31.
