Cortlandt Man Faces Weapons Charges

He fired a gun during a confrontation at his home, state police said.

CORTLANDT, NY — A Cortlandt man faces weapons charges after firing a shot at his home, police said.

The New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks charged Glenn L. Stieglitz, 22 for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony, Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, an Unclassified Environmental Conservation Law Misdemeanor.

At about 4 p.m. Nov. 27, troopers were sent to Kings Ferry Road for a report of shots fired. The investigation determined Stieglitz had a confrontation with persons known to him at his residence. During the confrontation, Stieglitz obtained a shotgun from inside the residence and fired one shell.

No one was injured.

Stieglitz was arraigned before the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
