Cortlandt Man Has Cocaine, Weapon: NYSP
A search of his home was executed after he was stopped for a traffic violation.

CORTLANDT, NY — A Cortlandt man was arrested after being accused of selling narcotics. State police said Charles Leonard, 44, of Cortlandt, was charged with the following felonies: two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and one count of criminal possession of a firearm.
Police said Leonard was arrested Sept. 12 after a vehicle and traffic stop.
During the traffic stop, he intentionally struck two marked state police units and was taken into custody without further incident, police said.

At the time of his arrest, Leonard was found to be in possession of 27.9 grams of cocaine and some money, authorities said.
A search warrant was executed on his residence where 33.7 grams of cocaine and a loaded Glock 26 9mm was found, police said.

Leonard was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court and sent to Westchester County Jail without bail.
