Cortlandt Man Sent Indecent Materials To Agent: Police

The 13-year-old girl he thought he was dealing with wasn't one.

CORTLANDT, NY โ€“ A Cortlandt resident is accused of sending indecent materials to an undercover agent. The agent was posing as a teenage girl in Virginia.

In April, the Northern Virginia-Washington D.C. Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force contacted the New York State Police regarding an unknown male in New York sending indecent material to a Special Agent undercover as a 14-year-old girl.

In a month-long investigation, investigators in Cortlandt and the Troop K Computer Crimes Unit allege they were able to identify Christopher M. Alessandro, 25.

On May 7, the New York State Police in conjunction with the Virginia State Police and the Westchester County District Attorneyโ€™s Office High Technology Crime Bureau arrested Alessandro. They charged him with Attempted Disseminating of Indecent Material to Minors in the 1st degree, a class E felony.

Alessandro was arraigned before the Town of Cortlandt Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. He is next scheduled to appear before the Town of Cortlandt Court June 4.
