Cortlandt Manor Native Daniel Baskin Named Winner at Ithaca College Symposium

Daniel Baskin, a senior exercise science and athletic training major in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance at Ithaca College, was named a winner in the poster presentation category of the 18th annual James J. Whalen Academic Symposium.
The annual symposium held at Ithaca College highlights original research and creative works done by Ithaca College students in collaboration with faculty sponsors.
Baskin won for his presentation “Relationship between Exercise, Depression, and GPA in Active versus Non-active Ithaca College Students over a Ten-Year Span.”

The James J. Whalen Academic Symposium provides students with the opportunity to give oral and poster presentations on their senior and honors thesis projects and independent research, and to show their original creative work in the arts, including writing, music, theater and film.
Presentations are scored by a panel of judges on purpose/rationale, techniques and methods, conclusions, relevance, originality and visual appearance.
