Cortlandt, Peekskill Election 2017 Results

The communities voted on candidates and propositions. Here is what you need to know.

UPDATE: The final results in the election for Peekskill mayor: Andre Rainey received 2,528 votes and Frank Catalina received 2,445, according to the Westchester County Board of Elections.


CORTLANDT, NY — Residents had a chance to go to the polls Tuesday to vote for Westchester county legislators and city and town officials. Here are unofficial results from the Westchester County Board of Elections.

Westchester County legislator District 1 - John G. Testa had 56 percent of the vote to 44 percent for Nancy S Vann.

Westchester County legislator District 4 - Michael B Kaplowitz was unopposed.

Westchester County legislator District 9 - Catherine A Borgia had 63 percent of the vote to 37 percent for Robert J Outhouse.

Cortlandt

Cortlandt Receiver of Taxes - Mary E Breining had 70 percent and Cynthia Z Merend had 30 percent.

Cortlandt Supervisor - Liam J Carroll had 24 percent and Linda D Puglisi had 76 percent of the vote.

Cortlandt Town Clerk - Laroue R Shatzkin had 62 percent of the vote while Reed Douglas had 38 percent.

Cortlandt town council - Debra A Carter- Costello had 34 percent of the vote, and James Creighton had 31 percent. Mark A Goodenow Jr had 18 percent and Glen S. Hockley had 17 percent.

Cortlandt Town Justice

  • Gerry Klein - 44 percent
  • Kimberly Ragazzo - 56 percent

Croton-on-Hudson

Croton-on-Hudson Mayor - With 25 districts reporting, Brian Pugh had 64 percent of the vote to 36 percent for Gregory J Schmidt.

Croton-on-Hudson Trustee - Amy M Attias and Sherry L Horowitz each had 34 percent of the vote. Robert E Anderson had 16 percent of the vote and Roseann K Schuyler had 15 percent.

Peekskill

Peekskill Mayor - Andre K Rainey held a narrow lead over incumbent Frank A Catalina 51 to 49 percent.

In an election celebration at the BeanRunner Cafe, Rainey thanked the thousands of residents who turned out to vote and support his campaign.

“Peekskill decided tonight that they liked the success that the Democratic majority has been able to achieve, but wanted a more positive and unifying mayor who could make all residents proud and would build bridges, not walls,” Rainey said, according to a press release. “To those who voted for me and those who voted for the incumbent mayor, I will do everything I can every day to make you proud. I will not be perfect, I will make mistakes, but I will work my heart out every day to move this city forward and include all voices at the table.”

Peekskill Common Council - a close race overnight. Democrats Vanessa B Agudelo, Ramon A Fernandez and Colin D Smith held narrow leads over their Republican opponents, Joe Torres, Luis A Segarra, and Robert M Sullivan.

Peekskill Proposition

  • Library budget - The vote was 58 percent 'yes' and 42 percent 'no.'
