Cortlandt Residents Face Drug Charges in Putnam Valley
The 19- and 21-year-olds were stopped for a traffic violation.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a woman and man from Westchester County on drug charges.
At 7:06 p.m., April 19, Deputy Sheriff Frank Gallipani stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Nardin Road in Putnam Valley.
Police allege that the driver, Heather L. Farr, 21, of Cortlandt Manor, New York, was in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance and a hypodermic needle. Farr was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and with Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument, misdemeanors.

A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Daniel J. Platoni, 19, of Cortlandt Manor was in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance, police allege.
Platoni was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor.

Farr and Platoni were released in their own recognizance pending a May 12, 2016 appearance in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court to answer the charges. If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, the defendants could each face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000Â for each charge.
