Cortlandt Town Officials Celebrate Suffrage

The public is invited to a virtual event at 5 p.m. Thursday.

CORTLANDT, NY — The Town of Cortlandt is planning to celebrate the 100 th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage on Thursday.

Town officials will host a virtual presentation at 5 p.m.

"To honor the ratification of the 19th Amendment and this historic period in our nation’s history, we will be hosting various speakers who will share some remarks on how this significant legislation has affected their lives today," said Town Supervisor Linda Puglisi.

In addition to both state and local government officials, the presentation will highlight the important women working in Cortlandt town government. The keynote speaker will be Dare Thompson, who is a past president of the NYS League of Women Voters and a current board member.
