An alert officer saw blood on a tire; the DNA evidence led to the arrest.

A Peekskill resident has been charged with criminal mischief in connection with tire-slashing incidents that took place throughout the city in June.
Chief Eric Johansen praised Officer Anthony Nappi with noticing a bit of blood on one of the tires. The DNA collected from it identified Peekskill resident Kaylen Lipford, who was arraigned and returned to the Westchester County Jail, where he was serving weekends on an unrelated charge.
