Up-cycled Women's Clothing & Artisan Boutique "Quirkshop" Opens

Artistic designer and creator of up-cycled women's clothing, Jeorjia Shea, officially opened her Artisan Boutique, “Quirkshop” on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 23 North Division Street, Peekskill, NY. Quirkshop joins a growing list of specialty retailers who are calling downtown Peekskill their home.

Shea created Quirkshop, nestled among the city's top restaurants, to display and sell her up-cycled cashmere and designer clothing and the creations of her fellow artisans. Many of the items in Quirkshop are one-of-a-kind and/or handmade, and are personally selected for the woman who embraces creativity and her own unique sense of style.

“I was originally drawn to Peekskill by the artist work/live lofts and the growing artist community. I have cultivated a wonderful collection of both customers and fellow artisans. When I saw the interior and the location of the space coupled with the burgeoning nature of the city, I knew this was the perfect location to showcase my unique designer fashions,” said Shea.

In additions to Shea's handmade clothing line, selections range from accessories like hats, gloves and scarves to jewelry, glassware and so much more. Shea makes all of her creations right in the shop, so customers can custom order the fashion of their choice or pick something right of the handmade racks that she made herself.

Quirkshop also serves as an inspirational place where people explore not only the art for sale but the desire to create within themselves—a welcoming workshop where they can learn skills they have always wanted to learn, but didn't know where to turn.

“I am amazed at the gorgeous variety of classic, yet funky cool merchandise Jeorjia carries at Quirkshop. I have never met a kinder, more accommodating, and humble proprietor in all of Westchester. I travel almost an hour round trip just to shop there and have never left Quirkshop empty-handed, and neither has anyone I brought to shop there!"

Quirkshop is located at 23 North Division Street, Peekskill, and is open Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 7pm, and Monday and Tuesday by appointment.
