Drug Trafficking Sting Leads To Cash, Meth, Crack, Coke, 2 Felony Arrests In Westchester: Police

PEEKSKILL, NY — A substantial stash of drugs has been taken off the streets in Westchester County, according to cops.

A joint narcotics investigation in Peekskill led to the seizure of drugs, cash, and drug packaging materials, and the felony arrests of two people, according to the Peekskill Police Department. Police said members of the department's Detective Division, working with the Westchester County Narcotics Unit, executed a search warrant on Tuesday at a Park Street apartment.

"Those who choose to sell dangerous narcotics in Peekskill should understand that they will be investigated, arrested, and prosecuted." Peekskill Police Chief Leo Dylewski said. "This investigation demonstrates our commitment to proactive policing and our continued collaboration with regional law enforcement partners to dismantle drug trafficking operations before they can further harm our community."

The search followed what is described as an extensive investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics in and around the City of Peekskill. During the search, investigators say they recovered a significant quantity of narcotics, including methamphetamine pills, cocaine, crack cocaine, and prescription medication. Police also reported recovering packaging materials, a digital scale, and about $9,000 in cash.

As a result of the investigation, police said Khaliem Turner and Gabrielle Malew were arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two additional counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and is being led by the Peekskill Police Department.
