Entergy Laser Light Spectacular to Ignite the Sky at Hudson Valley Exposition August 1
Peekskill, NY - The revival of the historic Hudson Valley Exposition on August 1, 2015 from 12noon to 10pm at Peekskill Riverfront Green Park, after nearly 70 years, will be topped off with the Entergy Laser Light Spectacular. At about 9:15pm the skies above Riverfront Green Park will fill with dancing laser lights synced to music. Unlike fireworks, laser lights are closer to the ground allowing for a more intimate, interactive experience. The best viewing will be inside the park.
The Exposition will highlight the best of yesteryear, today and tomorrow in dedicated, vibrantly themed areas: holistic/wellness, energy, technology, and industry, musical performances, artisan marketplace, farmers market and Hudson Valley restaurant row.
There will be historical re-enactments, a log cutting demonstration by N. Dains Sons, a solar panel demonstration by Franzoso Energy Solutions, a floating yoga studio by SUP OM YOGA, kids’ tree climbing by Almstead trees, 3-D printer demonstration by the Field Library, as well as trendy businesses and the best of the Hudson Valley’s food, craft beer and wines—all of which will be capped off by the Laser Light Show.
Admission is $10 suggested donation per adult. Children 12 years of age and under are admitted free to the Exposition grounds.
Musical selections will be synchronized with multi-color lasers, starting with songs popular from the inception of the Exposition in the mid-1940s. The laser light show is made possible by the generosity of Entergy and presented by the well-established laser light company, Pyrotechnico.
Before and after the laser light show, pop/rock/classical violinist Daisy Jopling and her band will take to the stage to entertain festival goers. Just prior to the laser light show, special recognition will be given in honor of Peekskill’s 75th anniversary when all of the living Mayors of the City of Peekskill will be invited on stage to celebrate the City’s 75th Anniversary and the Chamber’s 100th Anniversary.
Pyrotechnico was founded in 1889 by Constantino Vitale in Italy, who immigrated to Ellis Island in 1920 and established his company in New Castle, Pennsylvania. The company has been commissioned for many major events such as Justin Timberlake’s 20/20 Tour and Coachella, and sporting events like the Superbowl.
The Exposition is presented by the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce in honor of its 100th Anniversary and the City of Peekskill in honor of its 75th Anniversary.
