Bill Newman of Albany, NY has produced "The World's Most Complete Guide for Small Boaters to New York State's Upper and Mid-Hudson River Estuary"...a recreational map for those who sail, cruise, and paddle the majestic Hudson River. He will release the first 100 copies of the first edition at a reception at the Flat Iron Gallery in commemoration of Earth Day 2012. The Hudson River Estuary map and guide covers 120 nautical miles between Peekskill and Waterford, New York, and is adorned with original artworks by a number of noted Hudson Valley artists featuring scenes painted along the river. Bill's Maps, Inc. and the Flat Iron Gallery will donate the proceeds from the 100 Mid Hudson River Estuary maps to the Community Boat Works organization of Peekskill which teaches disadvantaged youth teamwork and technical skills by building wodden kayaks. Croton's "en plein air" artist Anne Johann's "Harmony in Blue and Gold" graces the maps front cover. The map was printed at William and Heintz in Washington, DC, a nationally acclaimed printer of navigation and land use maps. For more info., call Bill Newman 518-860-2301
