Felony DWI Charge for Driver with 1 Previous Conviction and 1 Pending Case in Cortlandt
State police stopped an Ossining resident Nov. 22 on Oregon Road.

Luis R. Quizhpi of Ossining faces charges of Felony Driving While Intoxicated and misdemeanor Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle, following a traffic stop in Cortlandt Nov. 22.
State police said they made a traffic stop on Oregon Road at about 12:20 p.m. As they interviewed the driver, they came to the conclusion that he was operating while under the influence of alcohol. He refused to provide a breath sample.
Research revealed that Quizhpi, 48, has a prior conviction for DWI from 2008 and also has a DWI charge pending in the town of Cortlandt from an arrest in April 2014. Furthermore, his license is under mandatory suspension pending the outcome of the April case.

He was released and is due back in Cortlandt town court Dec. 5.
