Field Library Opens In Stages Starting June 15

PEEKSKILL, NY — The Field Library has a staggered plan for resuming service through the summer. Soon, you'll be able to check out books online or by phone, and pick them up outside by appointment. In July, there will be limited service inside.

Contactless Service

Book check-out will begin June 15. Patrons will be able to place items on hold through the automation system or by calling the library at 914-737-0010. You will arrange a pickup time at the time of your call. Please allow 24 hours for the holds to be ready for pickup. Pickup hours are as follows:

• Monday 10 am - 2 pm
• Tuesday 4 pm - 8 pm
• Wednesday 4 pm - 8 pm
• Thursday 10 am - 2 pm
• Friday 12 pm - 4 pm
• Saturday 10 am - 2 pm

To pick up your items, you must wear a mask and present your ID or library card.

Items may be returned through the outside book drop at the entrance of the building any time. For the safety of our staff and patrons, returned items will be quarantined for 72 hours. Please allow one week for returned items to clear your account before contacting the library.

Phase 2 Begins July 6

Phase 2 begins with limited service inside the library. The library will have a senior-only hour from 9:30 am – 10:30 am. The library will close for 30 minutes for cleaning then reopen at 11 am for everyone. The library will close at 2 pm and 5 pm for cleaning. Library hours during Phase 2 will be as follows:

Get A Library Card

During this extraordinary time The Field Library is committed to providing library services while closed. Towards that end patrons may apply for library cards online. The card will allow you to access online resources such as ebooks, streaming video and music, online tutoring and more.

If you do not have a library card and would like one, go here. Click Request Library Card, fill out the online form and a card will be sent to you within a week. Cards will expire April 30, after which you may bring in your library card and renew it with proof of address.
