Fleischmann Pier Reconstruction, Charles Point Park Improvements To Begin

Public Access will be restricted during construction which should be completed in fall 2023.

PEEKSKILL, NY — The Fleischmann Pier and Charles Point Park construction project will begin on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, and is anticipated to be completed in Autumn 2023.

City officials said the project includes the construction of a new pier to accommodate large tour boats, sightseeing, fishing/crabbing, two smaller docks for transient boats and a kayak launch.

In addition, Charles Point Park improvements will include an expanded parking lot, an ADA pathway to the pier and a restroom.

Public access will be restricted during this project, with the pier to close on Tuesday, Aug. 30 and reopen in early fall 2023. The parking lot will close on or around Monday, Sept. 26, and a section of the parking lot is expected to reopen in fall 2022, with the date to be announced.

The Waterfront Trail through Charles Point Park will continue to be usable and accessible for the duration of the project.
