CORTLANDT, NY — A freshman at Hendrick Hudson High School, 15-year-old Alexandra Figueroa was diagnosed with metastatic Ewing's Sarcoma April 25, after discovering a mass on her shoulder that seemed to be growing rapidly.

Alex began aggressive chemotherapy and radiation immediately at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital Center in NYC.

"While we are still at the very beginning of Alex's journey to recovery you would never know it by all that has been done already for Alex and our family," her mom, Jen Figueroa, wrote in an update on GoFundMe two days ago. "While we have not been physically present at the many fundraisers we are very aware of all that is being done and we are always there in spirit!! Honestly, thank you just doesn't seem enough. We are beyond grateful for the overwhelming amounts of love and support sent our way."
