Furnace Woods First Graders Visit with Animals

Students make friends with a variety of creatures

On April 8, Rick Lee from Nature Club and Awareness came to visit the Furnace Woods School first graders. Rick taught students the differences between living and non-living things and he discussed the attributes of each. The children were able to pet and hold a number of animals; chickens, snakes, rats, a ferret and a rabbit were among the animals that Rick brought with him. The visit was a wonderful springboard into our last unit in science for the year: Investigating Living Things.
