Goat Trail Closure: Work Planned for Bear Mountain Bridge Road

Follow the detour up and around, and expect delays.

CORTLANDT, NY — State transportation officials warn that Bear Mountain Bridge Road, AKA the Goat Trail, AKA US Route 6/State Route 202, is scheduled to be closed between Route 9D and Route 9 on Monday and Tuesday. Crews will be performing construction activities, weather permitting, between the Bear Mountain Bridge and Annsville Circle.

Motorists should follow the signed detour, but expect delays and plan accordingly, DOT officials said.

The detour for eastbound motorists will include traveling north on Route 9D to Route 403 east to Route 9 south to Annsville Circle.

The detour for westbound motorists will include traveling north on Route 9 to Route 403 west to Route 9D south to the Bear Mountain Bridge.

Use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to flaggers and all traffic control devices, including signs.

Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
