Buchanan-Verplanck Elementary School hosted its annual Great Apple Pie Bake on Monday of Thanksgiving week, with third graders preparing more than 50 scrumptious pies.
All ingredients were donated by the families of the students, and the third grade teachers. The 55 pies and hand-made cards were donated to the Jan Peek House Homeless Shelter in Peekskill on Tuesday afternoon (delivered by Mrs. Holzman, 3rd Grade students Ashley M. and Mia O. and their moms). All unused ingredients (flour, sugar, butter, apples) were also donated to the Jan Peek House.
