Find out what's happening in Peekskill-Cortlandtfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

I am looking forward to being able to focus my efforts on the things that I am the most passionate about: theatre and science. I am especially excited that through my involvement with the Schreyer Honors College, I will be able to conduct research that ties these two fields together.

3. What was your favorite high school class?

My favorite class in high school was AP Literature with Mrs. Barthelmes. I enjoyed the freedom we were given to think for ourselves, and the opportunities we had to share our thoughts through class discussions.

4. What clubs or extracurriculars were you involved in?

Throughout my time at Hendrick Hudson High School, I have been especially involved in the Drama Program, having performed in six productions. Some memorable roles at HenHud have been Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Maria in West Side Story, and Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins. I have also been a part of the Treble Chorus for all four years. I have been a member of the Science Research program, through which I have conducted a three-year study of a newly recognized condition called Aphantasia. I am part of the National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Math Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.

5. What advice would you give to underclassmen?

I would advise underclassmen to focus their efforts on what they are passionate about. This way, the late nights and countless hours spent working won’t be exhausting, but rather, exhilarating.

6. Any teachers/staff who stood out throughout your journey?

The staff member who has had the greatest influence on me throughout my years at HenHud has been Clare Carey. As the director of the theater program, as well as as a mentor and above all, a friend, Clare has taught me a tremendous amount and has been a shining light in my life.

7. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In ten years, I see myself pursuing a career in musical theatre, hopefully performing on Broadway!

8. Tell us a fun fact about you.

A fun fact about me is that I like to ride unicycles!
