The Section One Girls Basketball Coaches Association has selected Hendrick Hudson High School as this year’s recipient of the 2nd Annual Bill Glassman Memorial Sportsmanship Award. Bill was a longtime coach, Sectional Chairperson, and Coaches Association President in Section One. He was very instrumental in bringing the Section One Girls’ Basketball Tournament to the Westchester County Center.
Bill coached at various schools in Section One, including a brief tenure at Hendrick Hudson. He always spoke fondly of his experience at Hen Hud, and would no doubt be delighted with their selection.
Sadly, Bill passed away last year after a brief illness. Hendrick Hudson was chosen as this year’s recipient as a result of their fine sportsmanship in the game of basketball. Congratulations to Coach Ken Sherman, the 2014-15 Hendrick Hudson Girls Varsity Basketball team, and Athletic Director Tom Baker.

Baker is immensely proud of his team’s selection. “This is a great honor for the girls’ basketball team, Ken Sherman, and all of the Hen Hud Community,” Baker said. “Bill was a wonderful man with whom I was privileged to work. I am very proud that our team was honored in Bill’s memory.”
Hendrick Hudson will accept the award at the Westchester County Center on Sunday, March 1 at the conclusion of the first quarter of the Girls AA Championship.
