Even  though  only  a  few  miles  separate  Croton  and  Hen  Hud,  these  two  schools  have  not  met  on  the  field  in  over  35  years,  1965  being  the  last  time.

The  rivalry,  although  not  one  that  had  the  luxury  of  playing  one  another  in  games,  still  exists  in  a  very  positive   manner.     For   the   past   10   years,  every   Tuesday   the   Hen   Hud   and   Croton   football   teams  practice  together  to  prepare  for  the  upcoming  week's  game.

“The  players  have  developed  friendships  and  rooted  for  one  another  for  many  years,”  remarked  Hen  Hud  Athletic  Director,  Thomas  Baker.  “After  all,  many  of  them  are  truly  neighbors  in  our  town.”

To  add  to  the  mystique  of  this  game,  the  Croton  football  staff  is  all  Hendrick  Hudson  football  alumni.

When  MSG  descends  on  the  Hen  Hud  campus,  they  will  bring  with  them  a  number  of  personnel  and  equipment  capable  of  filming  and  producing  a  high  impact  and  visually  exciting  broadcast  of  these  local   rivals,   with   five   cameras,   including   one   on   a   scissor   lift,   and   an   eighteen   wheeler   broadcast  center.  The  broadcast  will  reach  up  to  3.5  million  homes  in  the  New  York  metropolitan  area.

“This  is  a  great  opportunity  to  showcase  our  exceptional  student  athletes,  our  facilities  and  our  school  community,”  remarked  Superintendent  of  Schools,  Dr.  Daniel  McCann. “We are pleased they selected our school and look forward to showing them what it means to be a Sailor.
