Hen Hud Senior Earns Gateway Chamber Scholarship

The scholarships recognize the students' academic achievements and community service.

From Hendrick Hudson HS: Hendrick Hudson High School senior Danielle Smith was recently awarded a scholarship from the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce.

Each year, six local high school students are awarded $1,000 college scholarships by the chamber. The scholarships recognize the students’ academic achievements and community service. The 2018 recipients graduated from Croton-Harmon, Hendrick Hudson, Lakeland, Peekskill, Putnam Valley, and Walter Panas High School and were presented with their awards at the chamber's June breakfast. The scholarships are funded from the generosity local businesses from the chamber's annual Tommy Bertoline Scholarship Golf Outing, held annually in September. The event is named after Tommy Bertoline, a past board member of the Chamber and the golf committee member, who dedicated his life to the community and to youth sports.
