CORTLANDT, NY — Hendrick Hudson High School teacher Jeanine Hall has been named the PLTW Biomedical Science Teacher of the Year, the highest recognition given to Biomedical Science educators by Project Lead the Way.

About 11,500 elementary, middle, and high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia offer PLTW programs that empower students to develop in-demand, transportable knowledge and skills through pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science.

PLTW President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Vince Bertram presented Hall with the award in February, in front of an audience of nearly 1,000 teachers from across the country during PLTW’s national conference in Indianapolis, Indiana.

“We are proud to work with outstanding educators across the country who are inspiring and empowering our students to develop in-demand knowledge and skills,” Dr. Bertram said. “Jeanine Hall is an exemplary teacher, and we are proud to recognize her for her commitment to students.”

Hendrick Hudson High School principal James Mackin recalled when the school started its PLTW Biomedical track at the school many years ago. “We were lucky to secure Jeanine to get the program off the ground,” he said. “Her efforts have garnered the high school local, state and national recognition. It is only fitting that she is receiving the recognition she so richly deserves."
