Tuesday was the budget and school board vote across New York State.

CORTLANDT, NY — Hendrick Hudson school district residents went to the polls today. They approved the Board of Education's spending proposal by a vote of 567 yes to 210 no votes, according to tweets from Superintendent Joseph E. Hochreiter. The bus proposition passed, with 567 votes to 204 votes; the Hendrick Hudson Free LIbrary Budget passed, 588 to 187 votes; and Barbara Pettersen and Cory Notrica won Board of Education seats. They were running unopposed.

The spending plan for the Hendrick Hudson school district is $79,623,118 for 2017-18.

The elephant in the room for Hen Hud is the planned closure of Indian Point, which will decimate the property tax base.
