HRHCare Co-Sponsors Forum on HIV, Hepatitis C and STIs

On December 2nd HRHCare Community Health will co-sponsor a Hidden Diseases community forum focusing on HIV, Hepatitis C and STIs.

HRHCare Community Health will sponsor a community dinner and forum on December 2nd entitled Hidden Diseases: HIV, Hepatitis C and STIs; What Congregations Need to Know! Co-sponsored by the Hudson Valley Regional Committee of the AIDS Institute’s Faith Communities Project, the Health & Education Ministry of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, the Peekskill Area Pastors Association and the Peekskill Branch of the NAACP, this forum will take place at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Peekskill in honor of World AIDS Day 2015.

Participants in this community forum will learn what they can do to increase awareness of of the impact of HIV, Hepatitis C and sexually transmitted infections (STIs); discuss how faith communities can better educate and support congregants affected by these infections; learn about community resources available to faith communities; and network with representatives of other local faith communities and community based organizations. On-site medical screenings, counseling and resources will be available. The forum will include personal stories shared by local clergy, health care professionals community members. Dinner will be available for participants before the forum begins.

The Hidden Diseases community dinner and forum will take place on Wednesday, December 2nd from 6 to 9 PM at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 11 Rev. G. Franklin Wiggins Plaza in Peekskill.
