Hudson Valley Pest Control Firm Merges With Global Company

Company officials said there are no planned changes regarding personnel and structure.

CORTLANDT, NY — One of the Hudson Valley's leading pest control businesses has merged with an international company. Family-owned JP McHale Pest Management says it will expand its range of services to include commercial programs following a merger with global pest company Anticimex Group.

Buchanan-based McHale has been operating for 50 years. Anticimex began 82 years ago in Europe and now serves more than 3 million customers worldwide.

“Our merger with Anticimex Group unlocks a brighter future for our business and team members,” Jim McHale, CEO of JP McHale Pest Management, said in announcing the deal. “They have invested in our family-focused brand, the communities we serve, and above all else, our clients.”

McHale, who has a bachelor's degree in entomology from Cornell University, said there are no planned changes regarding personnel and structure. He will continue to serve as president of JP McHale Pest Management.

“We’re excited to have this opportunity to tap into new and innovative techniques and methods created by some of the best in the industry,” McHale said. “Our primary objective is to continuously work to improve the client experience.”

Also part of the deal is JP McHale’s commercial service partner, RJS Pest Management Specialists, which provides preventative pest management services for businesses and commercial properties in New York City.
