Inn on the Hudson Says Farewell to GM, Hello to New GM, and Previews New Restaurant

Inn on the Hudson to Wish Bruce & Barbara Prehal a Happy Retirement, Welcome New GM, & Give Sneak Peek at Peekskill's Newest Restaurant

The Inn on the Hudson, a Hudson River landmark in Peekskill, NY for more than 60 years, has a lot to celebrate.

Inn owners are saying farewell to General Manager Bruce Prehal and bookkeeper Barbara Prehal, who are retiring to Florida, saying hello to new General Manager Doug Dellipaoli, and offering an exclusive sneak peek at the Inn's new restaurant, Vue, on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 5pm.

The Prehals have been with the Inn for the past 13 years, first as its restaurant owners and then with Bruce as General Manager. Under Bruce’s direction, the Inn made it through the 2008-2010 recession by making extensive renovations to the Inn’s buildings, rooms and grounds and by upgrading the Inn's technology including the installation of a new state-of-the-art online reservation system and launching the Inn's new web site—all in an effort to improve the customer experience.

The Prehals, who are moving to Florida to be closer to family, have been an integral part of the community with Bruce having served on the Board of Directors of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Peekskill Rotary. The Inn was named “Business of the Year” by the Chamber earlier this year. Barbara, in addition her duties at the Inn, worked as the Business Manager for the chamber.

“Bruce managed us through the worst of times in our 60-year history, yet he is leaving us at the best of times. We are witness to improvements in all aspects of our business. He has helped set the stage for the continued success of the Inn’s new management team,” said President Richard Braverman, whose family has managed the Inn for three generations.

Doug DelliPaoli, the former General Manager at LaQuinta Inns and Suites, Extended Stay America and Highway Motel Management, will be the Inn’s new General Manager. DelliPaoli, who started on October 3, will be working alongside Bruce and the Inn's staff until he officially takes over on Bruce’s last day, October 31, 2016.

“I can’t wait to have Doug meet the people of Peekskill. He has great business savvy, a winning personality and a can-do attitude that will be a valuable asset to our hotel and the community,” said Bert Tobin, Vice President, who with Van Leichter, make up the Inn’s Owner Management team.

Simultaneously, the Inn's ownership is also giving an exclusive preview of Vue, the newest addition to Peekskill's popular restaurant scene. The Vue will be under the management of John Santero and Bob Gralia.

“We have two things in common. Doug, John, Bob and I all grew up in the Bronx and we all want to run a comfortable hotel and restaurant,” said Tobin.

A celebration party is scheduled for Wednesday, November 2 at 5:00pm at the Inn on the Hudson to recognize Bruce and Barbara’s retirement, DelliPaoli's new management and the restaurant’s preview. Please RSVP to Bruce at bprehal@innonthehudson.com. Space is limited, RSVP required.
