Lakeland Schools Finish Up Summer Projects

from a resurfaced track to new auditorium seats to handicap access to enhanced security, facilities in the district have been renovated

It has been a busy summer in the Lakeland Central School District as work has been ongoing throughout the district.

Many of the projects were part of the Phase 2 of the 2013 Safety and Security Bond in addition to some new projects. Construction work this summer included:

  • A new phone system is being installed districtwide
  • Generators have been installed at all schools throughout the district
  • A handicapped ramp is being installed at the entrance to the building.
  • A pathway and new lighting has been installed leading from the school to the multipurpose and baseball fields at Walter Panas High School
  • New security cameras have been installed district-wide and older cameras upgraded
  • Proximately card access control systems have been added at all buildings
  • The Walter Panas HS Performing Arts Center was renovated with new seating, carpeting and curtains
  • A new floor is being installed in the small gym at Lakeland Copper Beech MS
  • Air conditioning is being added at the Lakeland HS auditorium and library
  • Track at Walter Panas resurfaced (LHS was done last summer)
  • New windows were installed throughout Ben Franklin ES (this project began in late spring)
  • Network infrastructure upgraded
  • Speakers and PA system added and upgraded districtwide
