"Landscape Visions" exhibit now at Hudson Valley Hospital Center

Artist is donating 50 percent of proceeds to hospital

Cortlandt Manor, NY - (November 17, 2014) – A fine art exhibit titled “Landscape Visions “ is now open as part of the Art for Health program at Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

This exhibit highlights the works of six artists and features a special guest artist, Elaine Galen of Mount Kisco, whose work has been exhibited internationally.

“The hospital is honored to exhibit the work of an artist of this caliber,” said Curator Suzanne Ashley. Galen’s exhibit of recent paintings is complemented by that of the five area artists whose works – a diverse selection of landscapes in many different media -
are also exhibited in the lobby and halls of the facility.

Michener Museum of Art, the Mississippi Museum of art, and many others. In addition, her work is in numerous other public, private and corporate collections and has been shown in many galleries around the world with gallery representation in Chicago and New York.

Speaking of her work, Galen says: “In a world of eroding values and environmental concerns, my view of Nature is one of a moral obligation to preserve its interdependent balance. As a painter, my aim is to communicate Nature’s power to evoke a range of emotions from the mystical to the surreal.”

The exhibit may be viewed in the lobby and main administrative hallway seven days a week from 2 – 8 p.m. in the main hospital building. To access the full exhibit, ask at the Information Desk for directions to the main hall. The exhibit will be on view through January 5, 2015. Purchases may be made through hospital curator, Suzanne Ashley at suzanneashley13@gmail.com or 845-531-9617.
