Lane Closures Coming on Route 9 in Peekskill

State transportation officials warn of delays during daytime work early in the week.

Lane closures are expected July 27-28 on southbound Route 9 between US Route 6/Main Street and Hudson Avenue in Peekskill.

The closures will take place in the daytime but not during rush hour, state transportation officials said.

While crews perform maintenance activities between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. (weather permitting), one lane in the southbound direction will remain open.

But, motorists should expect delays.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to flaggers and all traffic control devices.

Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of your drivers license.
