Letter to the Editor: The Future Of The Buchanan Police
The writer alleges the village board is planning to disband the department and urges residents to attend Tuesday's meeting.
To the Editor:
Tuesday evening (May 1) at 7:30 p.m., residents of the Village of Buchanan will be attending the Village Board meeting to show support for the Buchanan Police Department.
It has recently been discovered that the Mayor and Board decided to not hire for current vacancies in hopes that the PD will dismantle itself by attrition.

Village residents have been kept in the dark during the entire process, but plan to come out in droves to show support and ask the Mayor why residents have not been involved.
