Lincoln Depot Museum Construction Underway

The new contractor is now on site and work has begun for the new building that will hold offices, gift shop and meeting/exhibition space.

From Lincoln Depot Museum: We have very exciting news to share with you from the Lincoln Depot Museum. The new contractor is now on site and work has begun for the new building that will hold our offices, gift shop and meeting/exhibition space!

It has been a long 3 years dealing with the previous unqualified contractor that was hired by the City of Peekskill to construct the building. The many setbacks were discouraging and beyond our control but we didn’t get held back inside the museum as we grew and improved our exhibits and programs. The original contractor was finally removed from the project and the bond company has taken over the project. A new local, highly qualified and respected contractor has been hired to take over and in just a few short days has cleaned up the site and is assessing the existing conditions.

We look forward to steady progress over the next few months and look to finally having the building completed, gain access to the entire site and begin the many exciting plans we have for the future. We will keep you updated on the progress but don’t hesitate to stop by periodically to see for yourself and visit us at the museum while you’re at it.
