Local, State Indian Point Task Forces To Hold Joint Meeting

Reports on economic development, energy planning, the recently-expanded natural gas pipeline and more are on the agenda.

CORTLANDT, NY — The Cortlandt Community Unity Indian Point Task Force and the New York State Indian Point Closure Task Force will hold a joint meeting Thursday. Among the items on the agenda is the release of the state's risk assessment of the Algonquin natural gas pipeline that goes past the plant and was recently expanded.

Other items on the agenda include updates from New York officials on nuclear decommissioning trends nationwide, energy planning, and the cessation fund.

In addition, there will be a report from Joseph Hochreiter, superintendent of the Hendrick Hudson school district, an update from the town's economic development consultant, and a presentation of outside research on Indian Point.
