Man Dies Falling From Tree Onto Power Lines

CORTLANDT, NY — A Peekskill man was killed Sunday in an accident after he fell from a tree onto overhead wires. State police said Carlos M. Diaz, 56, of Peekskill, was employed trimming trees at a Town of Cortlandt home on Gallows Hill Road around noon when he came into contact with the power lines.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Westchester Medical Examiner's Office.

State police were assisted by Cortlandt EMS, Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office, Central Hudson and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
