Man Shoots A-15 Toward Nearby Homes During Domestic Dispute

He faces two charges.

CORTLANDT, NY β€” Martin Costello of Cortlandt, New York, faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, and Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree, both Class D Felonies.

On August 21, state troopers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on Ely Road after a resident of the house called 911 for assistance.

Police allege that Costello was outside working on a car when the victim returned to the Ely Road residence. Costello reportedly entered the garage and grabbed a Panther Arms A-15 assault rifle.

The victim was able to enter the home and contact 911, police said; meanwhile, Costello discharged a round from the A-15 into the back yard β€” towards neighbors' homes.

Costello was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. He was due to return to the Town of Cortlandt Court Aug. 22.
